Laura is a local artist with a most innovative art expression. She utilizes Photograms as a medium to create an artistic imagery that in her hands exposes you to the most minimalistic life forms. Looking at Laura's Planktonic series, you feel that you are exploring life forms under a microscope.
According to Laura, the Planktonic Series " is a search for origins and a look into the underlying structure of life". Laura creates Photograms with clear glass objects, of her own design, by placing the glass on light-sensitive paper in a darkroom and using white, color-filtered or laser light to expose the paper. This casts a shadow of the glass onto the paper and reveals its "microstructure". Transferring these images to the computer allows Laura to introduce a life like color story that is enchanting.
